Conductor’s Guild

About Us

Guild History

20 plus years of experience

Following the inaugural Royal Logistic Corps Parchment Ceremony in 2001, Senior Conductor Dave Patterson invited serving, commissioned, and retired Conductors to attend future ceremonies. The strong interest generated by this initiative led to the formal establishment of the Conductors’ Branch of the Royal Logistic Corps on 24 September 2005 at Kineton Ammunition Depot. Dave Patterson was appointed Chairman on formation and continues in this role.

Over the next eighteen years, the Branch delivered a varied programme of events, attracting members from across the United Kingdom and overseas. Membership remained consistently strong at approximately sixty-five members, reflecting enduring commitment and international fellowship.

Between 2020 and 2022, activities were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in reduced engagement. At the 2023 Annual General Meeting, measures were introduced to reinvigorate the organisation, including the adoption of the title Conductors’ Guild, reaffirming its identity, heritage, and professional standing.

Since then, the Guild has resumed its annual programme, including the Corps Parchment Ceremony, Conductor Reunion Dinner Night, and visits throughout England. The Guild also awards the Conductor Certificate to the most outstanding Royal Logistic Corps Junior Soldier at the Army Foundation College, Harrogate, and presents a second cup at the RLC Annual Awards Event.
